CEA
carcinoembryonic antigen, produced in getal development. elevated in colorectal cancer, but also breast and lung cancers
AFP
alpha fetoprotein, found in the fetus. tumor marker in liver cancer and testicular cancer (if AFP and HCG are found tumor is nonseminoma)
carbohydrate antigen 19-9
present in the fetus in the epithelium of the fetal stomach. marker for pancreatic cancer
human chorionic gonadotropin beta (HCG-B)
normally produced by placenta during pregnancy, detected in serum or urine. elevated in testicular cancer patients
PSA
normally made in the prostate gland in ductal cells that make some of the semen. serum samples. psa is found in the cytoplasm of benign prostate cells, used for screening
CA-125
pruduct of MUC16 gene. associated with progression of ovarian cancer
