- Test tubes (water and starch)
- 3 drops of lugol’s iodine and check for color
- Yellow/red is negative and blue-black is positive

- Test tubes(water and sugar)
- 3 drops of Benedict’s reagent to each and mix
- Boil for 3 minutes
- Light blue is negative green/yellow/red/orange is positive

- Two pieces of paper bag
- One drop of water and oil separately to each
- Let dry
- Stain is lipid and clear is no lipid
What is method for Sudan IV for lipids?
- Test tubes (one water and one oil)
- 1 squirt of water to both
- 6 drops of Sudan 4 to both tt
- 10 drops of water to water tt
- 10 drops of oil to oil tt
- Let stand for 6 minutes
- Uniform pink is negative and split pink is positive

- Two test tubes one with water and one with protein
- 1 squirt of water to water and 1 squirt of albumin to protein
- 10 drops of biuret and mix
