What’s the treatment for asymptomatic haemorrhoids?

None - surgery of the perianal area should be avoided, as it can lead to incontinence.

- locate the vessels supplying the haemorrhoids
- ligate these
- haemorrhoids necrose and fall off

tear in the anal margin due to passage of a constipated stool
