A

Very active dogs need more energy than the dog always lying inside in a heated apartment.
The hard-working dog needs energy for work as well as the normal resting energy requirement

ME = 0.552 W*0.75 MJ/day (= 6.7 MJ/day for a 30 kg dog)
P --> 42% DM - 35% (according to Fekete)
fat -->30% DM 40% /according to Fekete)
CH --> 22% DM
Fiber--> 2% DM (low)

2 – 3 weeks before and after the operation): energy and protein restriction!
We give ¼ of the normal amount
 We practically want to starve the cancer cells and will die earlier than the healthy cells

To prolong the life quality:
	High CP: 95 – 100% BV
	Sugar (glucose)
	Extra arginine is needed because the protein intake increases 
	L carnithine
	Fatty acids: omega 3 (EPA and DHA) and omega 6 (arachidonic)
•	Ratio is usually 1:20 
we want 1:5-10 (more omega 3)
	Vitamin B5
