What are the dependent variables of the study ?
There are three dependent variables measured in the study :
- Pica behaviours : Frequency and severity of pica behaviours (consumption of non-food items) measured using standardised assessments, such as the Behavior Rating Scale (BRS).
- Behavioural problems : Assessments of general problem behaviours, including aggression and hyperactivity, also measured by the BRS.
- Emotional and behavioural symptoms : Measured using the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), which assesses subscales such as obsessive-compulsive problems, thinking problems and internal and external problems.
