Why did Columbus set sail
He set sail because he believed that the world was round he thought if he sailed west he. Could get to Asia and the spic islands and the East Indies.

The King of Portugal refused to support his voyage. He went to the Spanish King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella and after much delay they agreed to support the voyage

Describe the mutiny aboard Magellans ship
The crew didn’t like being ruled over by a Portuguese man so they are,pied to take over the ship but Magellan crushed the attempted mutiny.
Where did Magellan find a passage to the east and how was the crossing
He found a passage through the the straits. (Magellan straits). The San Antonio had to be abandoned as the straits were very stormy and when they reached calm ocean on the other side. Magellan named it Pacific (peaceful)
Explain about Magellans death
Magellan eventually reached a group of islands which later became known as the Philipines he got involved in a tribal war and on the 26th of April 1521 he died in battle
Explain the journey back to Spain after magellan died
September 1522 the Trinidad captained by Sebastian del Cano reached Spain. They were the first to circumnavigate or sail around the world
