What is a fusiforme aneurysm?
It involves all around the vessel
What is a saccular aneurysm?
Damage of one aspect of the wall
What is a pseudo aneurysm or false?
When there is a little pocket
Aneurysm risk factors?
Male, smoker, uncontrolled HTN, atherosclerosis, HLD, obesity, older adults
Assessment cues for aortic arch or ascending aortic aneurysm?
CP or TIA; hoarseness, cough, SOB, dysphagia; JVD or peripheral edema
Assessment cues for thoracic aortic aneurysm?
Often asymptomatic but back pain is most common. Deep severe pain that can extend between the shoulder blades. Hoarseness or cough is rare.
Assessment cues for AAA?
Epigastric pain or constant discomfort in the lower back. Pulsatile abd mass.
Why should HOB not be > 40 degrees after aneurysm repair?
It can occlude the graft
