Where and when is adrenaline produced?
A
- Produced in the adrenal glands which sit right above the kidneys
- Produced during the “fight or flight” response: when you get scared, stressed or need to exercise
- Adrenaline prepares the body for activity

What 4 things does adrenaline do in the body?
A
- Increase heart rate
- Increase blood flow to muscles
- Increase blood pressure
- Increase blood glucose levels: stimulates liver to break down glycogen into glucose

Where is thryoxine produced and what is it used for?
A
- Produced in the thyroid glands (found in the neck)
- Thyroxine has lots of roles in the body (growth and development) but is mainly in charge of increasing metabollic rate

How is thryoxine produced through the pituitary gland?
A
- The pituitary gland produces TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone)
- TSH stimulates the thyroid glands to produce thryoxine
- Thyroxine inhibts the production of TSH
