If young people do not achieve the sense of identity, they can have little idea of what kind of person
they are or may develop a sense of role confusion (Erikson, 1993).
This can lead to difficulty functioning effectively as adult
because they are unable to, for example to decide what stand to take on a particular issues or how to approach new challenges of situations.
• This can lead to exhibit because they believe it is better to have a negative image than to have none at all.
ACTNG-OUT (attention-getting/seeking) behaviors
Developing a sense of intimacy means a young adult is able to form long-term, meaningful relationships with persons of the opposite as well as their same sex (Erikson, 1993).
