Q

What is the action and innervation of adductor magnus?

A

Adductor portion adducts the hip. Hamstring portion extends the hip.
Nerve to the adductor portion is the posterior division of the obturator. Nerve to the hamstring portion is teh tibial portion to the sciatic.

Q

What is the course of the obturator artery from teh foramen?

A

Upon emerging from the obturator foramen, the obturator artery divides into medial and lateral branches that encircle ??obturator externus origin and anastomose. From the lateral branch arises a twig to the hip joint.

Q

What is the course of the anterior division of the obturator nerve? What does it supply?

A

Passes over obturator externus to the hip joint, sub-sartorial plexus, to skin. Supplies adductor longus, brevis and gracilis.

Q

What is the course of the posterior division of the obturator nerve?

A

Passes through the upoper border ??of what, supplying it ??what, passes down on addeuctor magnus (supplying it), with a twig to the knee capsule, running with the femoral artery and nerve.
