if cyst has already burst, hard to see
gold standard for appendicitis dx?
CT scan
diagnostic laparoscopy
appendicitis, antibiotics?
Ceftriaxone
initial management for young woman with increased white cell count and sudden RLQ pain
admit, and observe her for a day max, don’t discharge
analgesia, fluids
trial of food perhaps
repeat abdo exams
should surgeon remove a normal appendix on diagnostic?
usually they do, rule out microscopic appendicitis
abdo pain ask about, don’t forgets?
