Menorrhagia
Greater than 7 days or more than 80 ul of uterine bleeding occuring at regular intervals
Metorrhagia
Uterine beeding that occurs at irregular but frequ3nt intervals
Menomettorhagia
Prolonged uterine bleeding occuring at irregular but frequent intervals
Polymenorrhea
When uterine bleeding occurs at intervals of less than 21 days
Intermenstrual bleeding
Bleeding of variable amounts occuring between regular menstrual periods

pelvic pain, vaginal discharge, uterine bleeding

1) Organic-
2) Dysfunctional- things relating to the HPA (pypothalamic Pituitary axis
AUB related to pregnancy can be caused by
1) Implantation bleeding
2) Abortion
3) Molar Trophoblastic
4) Ectopic

Any drug that affects the liver’s metabolism of estrogen or production of clotting factors..ok
What are the kinds of pts that you would want to make sure and do an edometrial biopsy on due to their risk of having cancer?
Pts over the age of 35
Pts with risk factors such as obesity (>90 kg), infertility, nulliparity (No offspring), family history of colon cancer, any other cause of excess estrogen
Treatment of AUB
Estrogen
Premarin- IV Estrogen
You definitely would not want to give Estrogen to someone with ER Breast cancer or history of DVT

Dilation and Curetage…
It is rarely curative however but is recomended in pts with higher risk of endometrial neoplasia
