90 Day Transformation Flashcards
Why do you need 90 days for transformation?
It gives adequate time to facilitate sustainable habit change and an easy YES for the client.
A 90 day program can also work for group coaching.
What is the problem with a 6 month program?
Too big of a commitment
Too big a risk with their time & money
Too little faith in their own ability to commit to their own well-being for that long
They want to see results a lot sooner!
What are the 3 foundational skills a coach is looking to master in their first phase of their career?
- At tracking an ideal client
- Mastering the art of opening the relationship (OTR)
- Coaching with confidence
What should a coach do to prepare for a session?
Plan to be organized with session notes and create a folder for each client either on paper or computer where the coach keeps personalized notes and can keep notes on progress as they work together
How does a coach begin to build rapport with a paying client?
By taking the first 2-3 minutes to check in on how the client is feeling just dialoguing briefly.
How does the coach play a kind of leader during the session?
By establishing the ritual to the beginning of every session and focusing on what’s going well. Sometimes the coach will need to re focus the client when negativity comes to the surface. The coach always has to maintain and make clear again the client’s vision for themselves.
What are the 5 components of a well-formed outcome?
- It is stated in a positive “I” statement
- It is initiated and maintained by self
- It is achievable within the time frame given
- It has a specific sensory-based description (how does it feel, look, sound)
- It is an appropriate chunk size
What is the big MOFO?
The client’s big motivating factor. The desired state that the client is after.
What is even more important to know than the MOFO?
The coach needs to know WHY the client wants it.
-what is motivating their desire
-what value lies behind this goal
-What is most important to the client about it
-What will having achieved it do for them
What is the coach trying to do by walking with the client in understanding the client’s MOFO and WHY they want it?
The coach is establishing enough importance for the client to continue moving forward by their vision and achievement.
What does the MOFO essentially become for the client during the 90 program?
It becomes the value system or vow from which to make choices. (On a scale from 1-10, the MOFO should be at least at an 8). The MOFO helps create positive feelings with making healthy choices.
What is an anchor?
It is something physical in the client’s environment that serves as a reminder to why it is important for them to make the change. It should prompt a positive feeling, and helps to keep the client on track when the coach is not around to hold them accountable.
Why is it important to “clear the clutter” at the beginning of the programs?
It is important to clear out the old to make room for the new.
What then needs to be declutterred?
Anything from a physical space to your calendar.
What is “inevitable thinking”?
When the client makes a decision about who they want to be and how they want to live, they are operating from a place of inevitable success.
