Symptoms of Veginal Thrush?

Vaginal itching and sore
Burning sensation
White / thick cottage like discharge
No odour
Pain when peeing or during intercourse

Treatment?

PO - Fluconazole 150mg cap (Single dose PO)→ avoid in pregnancy
Clotrimazole cream 2% ( OD/ BD 3 day) Can give them together.

Things can leads to thrush?

Pregnancy
Diabetes ( weekend immunity)
Antibiotics
Menopause
Corticosteroids use

Self Care for Veginal thrush ?

Answer 5

Dry after washing.
Wear loose cotton underwear
Always wipe from the front (vagina) to back after toileting.
Avoid soap to wash the genital area
Avoid irritants i.e. deodorants, talcum powder
Keep blood glucose under control if you are diabetic.

Red Flag: Referral ?

Answer 6

Had more than 3 times in last SIX months.
Don’t improve in 3-4 days after treatment
Discharge changes colors, bad smell & Unusual bleeding & Fever
