Why?

A

If your child is under 16, you are entitled to request their health information in the same way as you are entitled to request your own health information.
the agency has reasonable grounds to believe your child does not want their information to be given to you;
the agency believes it would be contrary to your child’s best interests for you to have the information
likely to pose a serious threat to the life, health, or safety of any individual, or to public health or public safety; or
create a significant likelihood of serious harassment of an individual; or
include disclosure of information about another person who—
is the victim of an offence or alleged offence; and
would be caused significant distress, loss of dignity, or injury to feelings by the disclosure of the information;

How to decline?

A

“I’m sorry, but I am unable to share this information
The reason of not giving this information because the privacy act.
If your child is under 16, you are entitled to request their health information in the same way as you are entitled to request your own health information.
But once they are over 16, I can not disclose information unless i have reasonable grounds to believe disclosure is authorised by the individual concerned.
