What is the clinical significance of a thyroid ima artery?
Where does this artery come off of?
Can be damaged during a tracheotomy causing bleeding.
Can come off of the right common carotid, the brachiocephalic trunk, or the arch of the aorta directly.
What are the clinical features of a branchial sinus?
A tube open to the external neck, but not open to the mouth.
What are the clinical characteristics of a branchial fistula?
A branchial fistula is a tube open to the neck, going from the palantine tonsils. It allows substances in the mouth to exit to the neck.
What do we call the pharyngotympanic membrane when it is covered with mucosa?
The torus tubarius.
Which cervical triangle contains the thyroid gland?
Muscular triangle.
The term “adenoids” refers to which tonsils?
The pharyngeal tonsils.
