Q

What are London dispersion bonds?

A

The weakest bond that forms between nonpolar molecules, because it is the only kind of bond they can form.

Q

What are dipole-dipole bonds?

A

These bonds are stronger than London dispersion bonds, they form between polar molecules because of negative and positive atom attraction.

Q

What are hydrogen bonds?

A

These bonds are the strongest bonds, they form only between polar molecules with O-H, N-H, and/or F-H bonds. They can also help or block certain substances from mixing with water, since water will form hydrogen bonds over any other bond, which is why the nonpolar molecule substance oil does not mix with water.
