Cigarette exposure, daycare, Native american, cleft pallatte, family hsitory, low socioeconomic class, lack of breastfeeding.
Most common OM pathogens
Strep pneumonia, Haemophilus influenza, Morexella caratthalis
What bugs make acute sinusitis
Strep pneumo, haemoophilus infl (gram-). Moraxella (gram-) oxidase ppos diplococcus
Candidiasis
Mainlly candida albicans
- hyphae or yeast
- hyphate form associated with pathogenesis
- normal oral flora
Treated orally with many topicals
Systemic treatments include fluconazole, ketoconazole, icono, itro

Supraglotittis vs. croup
Supraglottitis is inspiratory, croup is biphasic.
Supra is H. Flu- treat with ABX and trach
Croup is epi,steroids, and humiidity
Supra has thumbprint- croup has steeple
Bacterial Tracheitis
- Cough, stridor, toxic appearance, fever
- ragged air column on lateral XR (not clear trachea)
- S.Aureus infection
- IV antibiotics, bronchoscopy and debridement.
