What is a realized niche?
The resources that a particular species actually uses.
What do you call the amount/use of the resources that a species could use, but doesn’t?
The fundamental niche.
What happens to both species in a mutualistic relationship?
Both species profit.
What would happen if one species of a obligatory relationship went extinct?
The other species would go instinct as well.
What is commensalism?
A relationship in which one species benefits from another, and the other species is not changed (does not benefit or have negative effects)
What is a “niche”?
The amount of resources a species uses. What/where/how the species uses it.
What is likely to happen if a niche overlaps?
The niche’s will partition (attempt to separate their niches)
What happens if two species’ niches are completely overlapping?
One species will die out.
What are some ways niches can partition?
By eating at different times, going to different locations, and eating different things.
