“to be developed”; a future passive participle from the verb bhāveti (see p. 89). The four future passive participles, neuter singulars in agreement with saccaṃ, indicate the four tasks to be performed with respect to the four noble truths. When these tasks are completed, the four truths are described by their respective past participles (as at SN V 422): pariññātaṃ, pahīnaṃ, sacchikataṃ, and bhāvitaṃ, “fully understood, abandoned, realized, developed.”
