Verb stem–っこない in 負けっこない

A

–っこない is the expression similar to わけがない which indicates the lack of a reason to
believe something and means “there is no reason why —” or “no way to do something.” –
っこない is used in a casual conversations.

Verb. plain non-past + 恐れ が ある

A

“恐れがある(おそれがある)” is similar expression to “かもしれない.” Both are expressions
of probability used to express ideas that the speaker thinks are possible. But please note
that “恐れがある(おそれがある)” is used only to indicate that things which are
undesirable.

会社が倒産する恐れがある

道路が凍って、車がスリップする恐れがある。
