Contraction and relaxation of Sinews ( based on blood regulation and storage)
Liver Function: Manifests in the Nails
by product of sinews: deficiency= brittle; blood stasis: dark purple
Liver Function: Opens into the Eyes
1: Nourished and moistened by LV blood; 2: not only organ related to eyes
Liver Function: Controls Tears
Related to Basal tears (which lubricates the eyes) and Reflex tears (which occur when a foreign body enters the eye) • LV Blood/Yin Deficiency: dryness • LV Yang Rising: watery eyes
Liver Function: Houses the Ethereal Soul
HUN (Ethereal Soul): source of life dreams, vision, aims, projects, inspiration, creativity, ideas; coming and going of SHEN.
LV Blood Normal: HUN is firmly rooted and can help with a sense of direction in life (HUN) .
LV Blood Weak: HUN is not rooted and cannot give us a sense of direction in life .
LV Blood/Yin Very Weak: HUN may even leave the body temporarily at night during sleep or just before going to sleep.
Liver Affected by Anger
Includes frustration, resentment, suppressed rage or anger; causes Qi stagnation, LV fire, LV Yang rising; relationship between organ and emotion are mutual.

Food Qi is transformed into blood by HT; directly affects menstruation; Controls Blood Flow; Houses the Mind

Spleen Function: Controls Transformation and Transportation
Transforms food and drink into Qi and Blood; Separates usable from unusable. ( Pure goes to LU, impure goes to intestine)

ascends Qi, Food Qi and Fluids to LU; Ascends clear Yang and descends Turbid yin;

Lung Function: Governs Qi and Respiration
Inhale clean QI, exhale dirty Qi
Form Qi: QING Ql (air) + GU Ql (food) = ZONG Ql (Gathering Qi) + YUAN Ql (parents) ZHEN and LU this Qi down
Lung Function: Controls Channels and Blood Vessels
LU governs QI— affects all channels; Qi is commander of Blood– influences all blood vessels.
Lung Function: Controls diffusing and descending of QI and body fluids
descends Qi to KD; descends body fluids to KD/ UB;
disperses Wei QI and body fluids all over body to space between skin and muscles. disperses Jin Ye to moisten skin and regulate pores.
Lung Function: Regulates all physiological activities
by governing qi, controlling breathing, controlling channels and blood vessels, controlling ascending descending entering and exiting of Qi Mechanism.

Root of the Original Qi . Source of Fire for all Zang Fu. Warms Lower Jiao and Bladder. Warms SP/ST to aid digestion . Harmonizes the sexual function and warms Essence and Uterus . Assists KD reception of Qi . Assists HT in housing Mind
