浮脉 Floating, Superficial
Exterior, W-C (if t ight), W-H (if rapid), Yin deficiency (if weak), Severe interior Qi deficiency (i.e. anemia, c.ancer)
沉脉Deep, Sinking
Interior, Qi/Biood stasis (if full), Yang deficiency (if weak)
迟脉 Slow
Cold, Full Cold (if fu ll), Empty Cold (if weak)
数脉 Rapid
Heat, Full Heat (if fu ll ), Empty Heat (if floating-empty)
虚 脉Empty, Deficient, Vacuous
Qi/Biood deficiency
实脉 Full, Excess, Replete
Excess, Full Heat (if rapid), Full Cold (if slow)
长脉 Long
Heat pattern
短 脉Short
Severe Qi deficiency, ST Qi deficiency
洪脉Surging, Flooding
Full Heat, Empty Heat (if empty)
细 脉Thin, fine, thready
Blood deficiency, Damp with severe Qi deficiency
滑脉 Slippery, Rolling
Accumulation of Phlegm, Damp or Food (if full), Phlegm or Damp with Qi deficiency (if weak), Normal in pregnancy
微脉 Minute, Faint
Severe deficiency of Qi and Blood
紧脉 Tight, Tense
Cold, Exterior Cold (if floating), Interior Full Cold (if full-deep), Interior Empty Cold (if weak-deep), Pain
缓脉 Slow down, Moderate
Generally a healthy pulse
弦脉 Wiry, String-taut
