X-ray Exposure Charts (4) Flashcards
1
Q
What are X-ray Exposure Charts?
A
Graphs that show the relationship between a given material thickness, kilo-voltage and mAm.
2
Q
What are X-ray Exposure Charts used for?
A
determining the necessary exposure for the radiography of an object with a uniform shape and thickness.
3
Q
How is an X-ray Exposure chart made?
A
Series of exposures done on the same type of film at the same kilo-voltage for differing mAm’s on a sloped or stepped wedge of known material + dimensions. Films are processed, target density is chosen and located on each film at differing thicknesses on the exposed part.
- Thickness values are plotted against kilo-voltage used
