Scatter Categories (7) Flashcards
1
Q
What type of parts are most susceptible to scatter?
A
large, thick, complex shaped parts.
denser the material the more scatter likely to be produced
2
Q
Three Categories for scatter:
A
- 1
- 2
- 3
3
Q
Category 1
A
Uniform thickness part, good film contact
- scatter is not a concern
4
Q
Category 2
A
Large radius, tapered edges, slightly irregular (loss of sensitivity at edges)
- may require screens or filters
5
Q
Category 3
A
Complex geometry, some parts don’t have film contact, no allowable loss in definition or sharpness
- require masking, blocking, filters, high energy radiation
