- Demonstrates carpal canal
- Palmar aspect and tubercle of trapezium seen
- Visualizes the scaphoid, capitate, hook of hamate, triquetrum, and entire pisiform
- Pisiform in profile and free of su[erimposition
- Helpful in identifying fractures of the hook of hamate, pisiform, and trapezium
