- Demonstrates air/fluid levels
- Both sides of abdomen visible
- Include the diaphragm to the pubic bone
When would you include the down side of a left lateral decubitus abdomen?
When fluid is suspected
When would you include the up side of a left lateral decubitus abdomen?
When free air is suspected
How is the patient positioned for a right/left dorsal abdomen decubitus?
Supine with arms behind the head

Elevate them
