tum to tum- allows drainage of rest tract
warm environment >25 degrees
warm bowl and vigorous warming/drying/stimulating

what is the initial managment of the chord?
allow chord to stop pulsating
no rush to clamp and cut
Mother may want chord attached - contact piper

when is Apgar assessed?
assessed at 1 minute and 5 minutes repeated at 5/60 until score >7

0 cyanosed
1 partially pink

1 <100 bpm
2 >200bpm
