- headache cerebral irratability visual disturbances naueas and vommiting heartburn/epigastric abdo pain hyper reflexia an elevation of 20mmhg above normal blood pressure
What is the most common cause of seizures in pregnancy?
Does this differ if they are new onset and in the later half of pregnancy?
Most commonly epilepsy
If later and new onset than eclampsia
How long do eclamptic seizures last?
usually no longer than 90 seconds and are self limiting
what is the only definitve treatment of eclampsia?
Birth of the baby
If there is an interhospital transfer of a paitent what managment is avalibale?
Nifedipine 10mg oral repeate after 30 mins
MICA
IV magnisium salfate, labetolol and hydralazine
What is assesed before using this CPG?
Hypertension, pre-eclampsia sings, sizure activty and gestation >20 weeks
what is the managment with siginifcant hypertnesion?
140-170
basic care and left lateral tilt
what is the managment of sevre hypertenstion?
> 170 and pre-eclampsia symptoms
consult PIPER to manage hypertenesion
What is the managment of seizures-ecalmpsia?
Manage as per seizure guideline
Post- airway support- mx birth or antepartum heamorrage
