A

Toxin mediated disease which incubation time is about 1-2 days

How would a Vibrio infection present?

A

-RICE WATER DIARRHEA (profuse, pale, watery)
-DEHYDRATION which can lead to metabolic acidosis (kidney function, build up of acid)

-Morbidity (health problems) can occur from severe dehydration and shock (can be within 1 day)

A

-Culture
-PCR
-Antigen Test (contact lab because of special methods)

A

REHYDRATION!!!

Antibiotics to decrease length of infection:
-Doxycycline
-Azithromycin
-Bactrim
-Ciprofloxacin
