-Serology (blood, won’t be detectable for 1-2 weeks)
-PCR
-Morulae in WBC’s seen on blood smears

How can you treat an Ehrilicia infection?

-Doxycycline (will treat all tick borne illnesses including Lyme disease if transmitted during bite) ***DO NOT GIVE TO PREGNANT WOMEN

-For pregnant women: Rifampin (will not treat Lyme disease if transmitted during bite)
