Viacom role specific pt 2 Flashcards
- Responsible for the long-term forecast of impacts, SOCI and share of viewing across a wide range of audiences for the ViacomCBS brands. This requires knowledge of the content, competition, seasonality, marketing and schedules

- Develop and refine forecasting models to become more accurate
- Align short-term linear forecasts with Airtime ratings team
• At Freesat the revenue model depended on the share of viewing of each channel portfolio - so part of my role was forecasting the performance of each channel group to identify any risks and opportunities
While I was there we had quite a high profile channel leave the platform due to a payment dispute so I made a forecast of the channel’s commercial impacts to predict how much advertising revenue they were losing as a result of not being on the platform - which was used in these commercial discussions to support of bringing the channel back
At Ampere, maintaining forecasts is at the heart of what we do and we’re regularly refining the model to be the best predictor of market performance. Linear is quite predictable as a mature market, but something like BVoD can be slightly more volatile and require of an iterative process to get right - for example in the UK there was a time where we were probably under estimating CPMs
- Prepare weekly performance commentary for ViacomCBS brands
* Prepare and submit monthly forecast submission
