What is Urs?
It is when the followers of the pious predecessors hold an annual gathering on the day of their demise to present esaal e sawaab to them.
How is it to commemorate the Urs of pious predecessors?
It is rewarding as long as the sharia is not violated.
What is the evidence of the Urs being permissible?
The acts of recitation, naat, and other good deeds are presented as esaal e sawaab. The evidence for esaal e sawaab is proven.
What is the proof of visiting shrines?
The prophet Muhammad would visit shrines of the martyrs of the battle of Uhud annually as narrated by Allamah Ibn Abideen Shaami.
Why do we visit shrines of the pious predecessors?
It is a cause for blessings. The pious predecessors would also do so. Imam Shafai visited the shrine of Imam Abu Hanifa when he had any needs.
Is it correct to say Urs is impermissible?
Urs has been proven by the Quran. Hadith, and actions of the blessed companions. All situations against sharia are not permissible.
How is it to sacrifice an animal in the name of a pious predecessors?
When the animal is being sacrificed the name of Allah must be taken. The sacrifice can be given as esaal e sawaab. There is no harm in this.
