What is meant by using prophets and awliyah as a wasila?

A

This is when they are used as a tawassul in Allahs court to seek one’s needs because they are closer to Allah. Allah accepts their intercession.

A

What is the proof of using wasila?

A

In the Quran in surah Al Maida, Allah says “Fear Allah and seek wasila towards Him”.

In Tirmizi Shereef, it is narrated that the Prophet Muhammad taught a blind man regarding wasila through a dua.

A

The scholars say this is acceptable, weather it is in their worldly life or after their passing.

What is the evidence for being able to use a prophet for wasila after their demise?

A

In Mishkat, Hazrat Abu Jawza said Hazrat Aisha made Dua for rain during a drought after the Prophets demise. After this there was a lot of rain until the plants grew and camels became fat. This became known as the year of bursting.

Is there any incident of tawassul from the 4 imams?

A

Yes, they all used to do so. For example, in his Qaseeda Nomaniya, Imam Abu Hanifa requested in the court of the Holy Prophet. Imam Shafai used imam Hanifa as a wasilah.
