PRACTICE QUESTION:
Explain the impacts predictable major life events could have on your development?

A

6 marks: [define and give examples]
Predictable events are events that we expect to happen at a certain point in our lives, whether they are positive or negative.
For example starting school could make a child feel nervous as they will be away from their parent/carer BUT on the other hand they may develop their social skills as they will have the opportunity to make new friends.
In the adolescence life stage an individual may leave home to go to university. They may be scared to leave home as they will need to learn how to be more independent such as buying their own food and paying their own bills. However, some may be excited to move out and explore their surroundings and make their own decisions and rules.
An individual may feel relieved when they retire as they no longer have to think about work pressures and demands but some may miss the fast pace working environment which could make them feel worthless.
