Explain what the PRIVATE sector is in HSC
A superior, private funded provision, funded by:1. fees from the service user2. payments from health insurance companies3. sometimes funded by Central Government (e.g NHS) will pay to use private hospitals for treatments to shorten waiting lists
Explain what the VOLUNTARY sector is in HSC

Explain with the PUBLIC sector is within HSC?
Funded by UK working people through their taxes and National InsuranceMost services are free but some people have to pay nominal charges e.g. for prescriptions and dental check ups
What is primary health care?
Services free to under 16’s, people in full time education, pregnant people, unemployed, disabled and over 65’s.

What is an NHS Foundation Trust?
A group of hospitals run by a Hospital Trust overseeing them all (the Trust is run by board of Governors)Governors can be staff, patients, members of the public
How does being part of an NHS Trust help decision making?
Decisions are made locally instead of centrally
What is a mental health foundation trust?
Specialist services offered in some areasProvision includes psychiatrists, nurses and therapists with specialist support for those suffering MH conditions
