Explain how discrimination is a barrier
Services are available to everyone but not all service users, uses them easily. The Equality Act makes it legal for everyone to have equal access to all services
Explain some physical barriers that can stop people accessing services
Wheelchair access
Deaf or hearing (sensory) impaired
Blind or visually (sensory) impaired
Speech problems
Seriously obese
Mobility problems
Seriously ill

How can people overcome physical barriers to acccessing services?
Home visits from GP;s
Volunteers to take them to appointments
Explain how financial barriers impact people acccessing services
On benefits or a low income
Disabled taxi costs more

What support is there to help those with financial barriers
Eligibility to free prescriptions and service are offered depending on financial status and in addition there is charity support and volunteers as well as subsidised parking fees

Live rural and not near any services
Not many people use the service so it closes
Opening times do not suit
Poor weather stops access
