What is line management? How is it used to monitor people’s work?
Hierarchical organisations/ work is monitored by senior members of staff/ Linemanagement meetings/ observations from senior staff or line manager.1. If staff performance falls short of the practice expected - line managers responsibility toaddress. A first instance – may be an informal conversation or warning2. If the concerns are serious or there is no improvement in performance more formalaction may be taken which could finally lead to suspension or dismissal.
