Cephalic = head first
Breech = buttocks, feet, or both

relation of the fetus’s spine to the mothers
What is fetal attitude?
relation of the fetal body parts to one another
What is fetal position?
relationship between a reference point on the presenting part to the 4 quadrants of mothers pelvis

Inlet is the upper border
Cavity is the curved pass with a short anterior wall
Outlet is the lower border

Responsible for effacement and dilation and descent of fetus

Bearing-down efforts
No effect on dilation but important for expulsion of infant.
