Q

Name and describe the 2 body cavity

A
  • Coelom: digestive tract and other organs suspended in a fluid-filled body cavity (Ex. molluscs, insects, vertebrates). Called coelomates
  • Acoelomates: do not have a coelom (Ex. corals, jellyfish and flatworms)

Q

What is segmentation and what are the advantages of having segments on your body?

A

segmentation is the division of the body into repetitive sections, or segment
- Advantage:
- if one segment is damaged, the other segments can still function properly
- Also mobility is more effective because segments move independently
