What is distributed practise?
Is where rest is given in between each interval so that feedback can be given to both coachs and althletes can be given feedback
What is fixed practise?
Uses repeation of the same activity to promote overlearning, e.h kicking penletys (not for the whole session though)
What is variable practise?
involes using different methods to archive a learning goal or performing a task in different situations. Aims to provide the performer with the ability to adpet a skill to a range of changing circustines
What is mass practise?
Is where no rest intervals are given between each interval of training. It is used when a coach wants to promote a high level of fitness
Example of mass practise?
Coach putting a football team through a 1hr fitness session, or hitting a tennis ball
Appropriate for fixed practise?
Closed skills
Appropriate for variable practise?
- Open skills so players can adapted
- Often used with beginers
Appropriate for mass practise?
- Simple skills that demand little attention
- Discrete skills with a clear end
