What is quantitative data?
Numbers.
What does quantitative data give?
The frequency of the behaviour.
What are three example of methods of quantitative data collection?
1 - Correlation analysis.
2 - Content analysis.
3 - Closed question interviews.
What is primary data?
The data you collect if you are the interviewer/experimenter.
You know the aims and have your own expectations.
What is an advantage of primary data?
Internal Validity - you have definitely measured what you meant to measure.
What is secondary data?
Using data that already exists - before ethics existed.
What is a disadvantage of primary data?
Ethics prevention.
What is an advantage of secondary data?
Quicker and easier and you can use data from before their existed.
What is disadvantage of secondary data?
Not your aims - might be misusing the data and you have to trust the experimenters had internal validity.
