What is a content analysis?
The analysis if the content of something.
What is an example of a content analysis?
The study of the order content of magazine advertisements and attempt to describe this content is some systematic way so the conclusions could be drawn.
What is content analysis a form of?
Indirect observation.
Why is content analysis a form of indirect observation?
Because you are not observing people directly but are observing them through what they produce.
What is an advantage to content analysis?
High ecological validity because it is based off of observations of what people actually do.
What is a disadvantage to content analysis?
Observer bias.
What is a disadvantage to meta-analysis?
The research designs in the different studies sampled may vary, which means that the study are not really comparable.
What is an advantage to a case study?
Offers rich, in-depth data, so information that may be overlooked using other methods is likely to be identified.
