Data Distribution Flashcards
What is the overall pattern of data seen in a graph called?
The distribution.
What is it always predicted that?
Data will follow a normal distribution.
When you have really good distribution, what is found?
The mean, mode and median all in the same distribution.
When does a skewed distribution occur?
When population scores are not distributed evenly around the mean.
When the data has a negative skewed distribution, is the high point of the curve to the left or to the right?
Right.
When the data has a positive skewed distribution, is the high point of the curve to the left or to the right?
Left.
What characteristics are found when the data has a negative skewed distribution?
More than expected scores at the low end.
What characteristics are found when the data has a negative skewed distribution?
More than expected scores on the low end
If a memory test is too hard, will the data has a positive or negatively skewed distribution?
Negative.
If a memory test is too easy, will the data has a positive or negatively skewed distribution?
Positive.
When there is a skew in distribution, what does the peak represent?
Mode.
