What are the two advantages of a quasi-experiment?

A

1) Allows comparison between types of people.

No manipulation is carried out but results show differences in people.

2) Can be carried out in a lab

DV can be tested in a lab, therefore high levels of control and results can be replicated.

What are the two disadvantages of quasi-experiments?

A

1) Lack of random allocation

IV is not naturally occurring so the participants cannot be randomly allocated so there may be confounding variables.

2) May be carried out in a lab

Low Ecological validity.
