peptic ulcer disease
A
lifestyle change: smoking cessation, no NSAIDs, no alcohol
H.Pylori +ve= PPI + amoxicillin + clarithromycin OR metranidazole + clarithromycin
H.Pylori -ve= PPI and H2 receptor antagonist
If gastric ulcer follow up endoscopy in 6-8 weeks to ensure no malignancy

gastroenteritis
A
- ensure well hydrated (may need fluids)
- supportive care
- occasionally ABs required
AVOID ANTIBIOTICS FOR E.COLI (may lead to hemolytic uraemic syndrome)

C. difficile
A
SIGHT S= suspect I= isolate within 2 hours G= gloves and apron H= hands washed with soap T= test immediately
mild/moderate= metranidazole severe= vancomycin +/- metranidazole
If treatment resistant use faecal transplant
