cause associated with reheated rice?

cause associated wiht milk/meat/fish and is a fast acting preformed toxin?
staph aureus
investigations?
stool sample
management?
- ensure well hydrated (may need fluids)
- supportive care
- sometimes antibiotics are needed (NEVER FOR E.COLI)
what can occur if ABs given to patient with E.Coli ?
can progress to haemolytic uraemic syndrome
what is haemolytics uraemic syndrome?
immune reaction that causes the small blood vessels in kidneys to become damaged and inflamed
what are signs/ symptoms of haemolytic uraemic syndrome?
Symptoms:
- abdominal pain
- fever
- pallor
- petechiae (small red dots)
- oliguria (little piss)
- blood diarrhoea
Signs:
- high WCC
- low platelets
- low HB
- red cell fragments
- LDH> 1.5x normal
