What is the process of voiding a citation or parking ticket?
To fill out a “Request to Void Parking Tickets & Court Summons”. The it will be signed by a supervisor and submitted to the traffic supervisor.
Officers will seize licenses that are…
Suspended, revoked, cancelled or altered. An “Operator’s License Seizure Form” will be completed and turned into the Property Supervisor to return to the RI DOT.
With an expired license (31-11-18(d)) the officer will?
Issue a summons to appear in district court not less than 10 days from the issuance date and shall not be taken into custody based only on this charge. The PO will inform the operator they have 10 days to come in with proof of reinstatement and the summons will be voided.
In regards to an accident or MV stop with an insurance violation the officer will..?
issue a citation to the operator. If the operator is not the owner, the officer will mail a separate citation to the owner.
In regards to multiple violations that are flagrant and is an extreme safety hazard to the public it is recommended that citations, if meets the criteria, be issued for the following violations?
Aggressive Driving (31-27.1-4) or Reckless Driving (31-27-4).
Traffic Offenses by juveniles for all felony and misdemeanor or for non-criminal traffic offences for under 16 will be referred to who? All non-criminal traffic offenses for juveniles 16 and over will be referred to?
the Juvenile Division for criminal and under 16….RITT for 16 and over juveniles (no pay by mail fines, must appear at RITT).
