Motor inervation of tongue
N. Hypoglossus
Foramen: Foramen Hypoglossus
Passes: Rostrally between CN X and CN XI
Medialy on m.digastricus
Runs with A.Lingualis
Compleetes the ansa cervicalis with the first cervical spinal nerve.
Innervates tge extrinsic and Instrinsiv muscles of the tongue.
Sensory innervation
N.lingualis
- Branch of N.mandibularis (V3)
- Devide to deep and superf as it reaches tongue
- Sensory to the first 2/3 of tongue
N.Glossopharyngeus
- CN IX
- Sensory to caudak 1/3 of tongue
