TOPIC 21 Flashcards
Tarsal flexors and digital extensors
m. tibialis cranialis
m. extensor digitorum longus
m. peroneus longus
m. extensor digitorum lateralis
m. peroneus brevis
m. extensor halucis longus
A.Tibialis Cranialis
●Comes from a.poplitea (ex.a.femoris) branches: - A.genus prox lat et med - A.genus media - A.genus dist lat et med - med gives of: A.tibialis caudalis ●A.tibialis cran Branch: - R.superficialis, anast. A.saphena, r.cran - R.nutricia Runs with deep fibular nerve ●Passed the hook = A.petalis dorsalis branches: - A.arcuata - A.metatarsea dors (dig II - V)
Common fibular nerve
-One of the kast terminating branch of SCIATIC n.
-Passes over the lateral head of the m.gastrocnemius
-Devide into a deep and superficial branch
●Superficial fibular nerve
- Lies just caudal to the Peroneus longus muscle
- Follow common fibular n. Lift peroneus longus, nerve btw. peroneus longus/lat.dig.ext
- Runs with the cranial branch of saphenus a.
- Forms the dorsal common digital nerves innervatig the paw
●Deep fibular nerve
- Runs with cranial tibial artery, distaly
- Close to the bone
- Lie between the cranial tibial and the long digital extensor muscle - medially
- Forms dorsal common digital nerves innervating the paw
M.tibialis cranialis
The most medial muscle
O: Lateral condyle and crista tibia + fibula
I: Medial on the tarsal and MT bones (MT2)
A: Flex the hook & supinate foot
a: a.tibialis cranialis
n: N.fibularis profundus
M.extensor digitorum profundus
O: Fossa extensoria on lateral femoral condyle
I: Proc. extensorius of distal phalanx of dig. II-V
(Ph3, Dig II-V)
A: Extends joints of digits and flexes tarsus
(Between cran tibial and Peroneus longus)
Almost compleetly covered by peroneus longus
N: Deep fibular nerve
M.Peroneus longus
Caudal to long.dig.ext
O: Lateral condyle of tibia, prox end of fibula + lateral colateral ligament of stifle
I: Tarsal I-II, MT II (lat->med)
A: assist in flexion of hook, pronates foot
N: Superf.fibular nerve
M.extensor digitorum lateralis
O: Fibula + Lateral collateral lig of stifle
I: Tendon blends w/ long dig.ext tendon on 1st phalanx, digit V.
(Ph3, DigV)
A: Extends the relevant digits
N: Superf.fibular nerve
M.Peroneus brevis
Weak muscle, deep lateral, distal to peroneus longus. Ca ONLY! Bone, no belly O: Fibula I: MT V A: Flex the hook
M.extensor halucic longus
O: Middle part of fibula
I: 1st phalanx of the 2nd digits
(Ph3, Dig II)
A: Extend 2nd digits
